Back in the early 1990s a group of academic physicians throughout the US set up what today remains being one of the largest critical care forums in the world. With over 2,000 members worldwide, CCM-L is a network of the most brilliant minds in critical care medicine. The system works as an email mailing list. Every email is sent to a central server that distributes it to each of the member’s own emails. CCM-L produces somewhere between 20-50 daily emails, but a digest-mode (a single daily email containing all the postings) is available.
One of the greatest advantages of such a widespread group is that inbreeding errors are dissipated as members of all walks of life discuss evidence-based medicine. To subscribe to CCM-L, visit www.ccm-l.org.
Although CCM-L covers trauma as well, a separate but equally diverse server for trauma exists trauma.org. Many of CCM-Lers also belong to Trauma-L as well.
